Blue Shark, Prionace glauca.

These guys get to about 4 meters long.
They're not considered a table fish in NZ although some other species are.

The poor ol shark seems to have become one of the bad guys in our consciousness.
Totally unjustified in my opinion, personally I quite like them.

It's funny how we think about things.
Personally I would be more worried about having a Lion a couple of meters away than most Sharks and yet we think of Lions as overgrown Puddy Tats !

It was a bit of fun.
Although in my opinion it would have been more fun if it had just stayed round the back of the boat chasing birds and eating the bait we chucked it.

They're a nice looking shark, the young more so than the bigger ones.
