Yellowhammer, Emberiza citrinella.

Yes I've returned !!
Major computer meltdown, Grrrrr.
But things are almost working again.

This young bird is a Yellowhammer, Emberiza citrinella.
It hasn't lost all it's baby feathers yet giving it a somewhat raffish look.
It amazes me how tame allot of the young birds can be, unfortunately they loose this somewhere along the line.

Really superb ! We see very well detail's colors of his feathers and he seems to be very sharp !

These birds are "sharp" in the other meaning of the word as well, usually you cant get within 5 meters of them or lift a camera and they're off.
This little guy decided to let me get a meter away and pose for the camera !

I could not find you in his eye! I'm just guessing that you are the dark shadow on the right side.
Being the dark shadow is kind of delightful! :-)

Good observing, that would be me !, the blue is definitely the sky.
Lurking in the shadows is fun but occasionally it's nice to step out into the sun and preen the feathers to show the world just how cleaver you are !!
